Nava

Mr. Jesus Nava serves as Finance Director/Treasurer for the City of Burlingame, CA. Burlingame is a city of 29,000 located in San Mateo County on the San Francisco Peninsula. In his capacity, he oversees budget, accounting, payroll, information technology, purchasing, debt administration and city investments for the City of Burlingame.
Jesus has over 22 years of local government experience serving municipalities in Texas, New Mexico and California. Most recently, Jesus served as Deputy City Manager for City Council Relations in San Jose, CA, from 2000 to 2003. He served as City Manager in Las Cruces, NM, from 1997 to 1999 and as Assistant City Manager for Finance and Administration in Laredo, TX, from 1992 to 1996.

Jesus received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master’s in Public Administration Degree from the University of Kansas. He also attended El Colegio De Mexico, in Mexico City, as an international scholar where he studied Mexican history, political science and U.S.-Mexican Relations.
 
Jesus has been active in the International City/County Management Association since 1982 and in the Hispanic Network since its inception. He is currently a member of the Hispanic Network Board of Directors and is Vice-President for Membership.

Jesus is originally from San Antonio, Texas and is the second eldest of eleven children. Jesus is married to Sharon Simonson and is father to two boys: Neal, age 17 and Juan Pablo, age 8. Jesus and his family reside in Los Altos, CA.
