Veronica Briseño Lara is currently the Assistant Director for the City of Austin’s Department of Small and Minority Owned Business Resources (DSMBR) in Austin, Texas. Veronica is responsible for overseeing the certification of minority and women-owned businesses, outreach efforts for minority and women-owned businesses, as well as the administration and finance of the department.

Since 1998, Veronica has had several different roles with the City of Austin including City Council Agenda Manager, Executive Assistant to a City Council Member, DSMBR Administrative Manager and DSMBR Certification and Administration Manager.

Currently Veronica serves as the Executive Chair of the Austin Hispanic Network, a local chapter of IHN. She is also a board member of the Austin Parks Foundation.

Veronica received a Bachelor’s degree in Government and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. She also earned her Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin.
